The Quiet Day was held at St. Bartholomew's Church on Saturday, October 15, 2011.

Br. Millard Cook, n/BSG lead two conferences: "Seeking God in the Rule of Saint Benedict and in the Rule of the Brotherhood of Saint Gregory" and "Elijah the Prophet as the model of One who seeks God."

Preparing for Advent in South Salem

The Rev. Barbara Crafton led a retreat for the Brotherhood of Saint Gregory and members of Saint John's Church, South Salem NY on the eve of Advent 1. Her storytelling skills and gracious reflections were soul-nourishing and insightful, as she reflected on the significance of the vowed life to all Christians. In addition to Crafton's meditations, a reading from her imaginative revisiting of the Nativity story over lunch, and a fine sermon on separating the "good" fish from the "bad,"t he day included the Daily Offices, officiated by Brs James Teets and Christopher Stephen Jenks; a reading from the sermons of Gregory the Great; the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Br Tobias Stanislas Haller and Deaconed by Br Thomas Mark Liotta; healing touch sessions with Deacon Joanna Depue; a scrumptious lunch prepared by members of Saint John's Parish; and a chance to enjoy the new parish hall, and the surroundings, on a brisk but sunny fall day.

Annual Convocation

Annual Convocation was really all that the Brothers have said it was; a blessing and with the quiet and flow of Winter Convocation. I came home rested and energized and did not gain any weight! Thanks to all who made it what it was and I look forward to hosting the Province in September - the 22nd to be exact!
